A good parrot head likes a party and parrot heads are great to combining a party with a good cause. Below are some examples of how our group combines a good time with helping local charities out. If you are a charity that would like our assistance, please contact us.

Bowling for Big Brothers/Big Sisters
The Northern Landsharks, annually, put a team into the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Lanark County Bowl for Kids Sake tournament in February. Each year, they work to achieve their financial goals to keep this great organization helping the youth of the county.
The Shoe Bank oF Canada
Since 2013, the Northern Landsharks, and the people of Perth and area, have managed to collect over 2,700 pairs of (and 49 single) shoes!
Although many people donated, there were still quite a few people that missed out advertisements for our events. With the cooperation of Giant Tiger in Perth (and recently Smiths Falls), we have a box inside the store for those to contribute their footwear year round.
Thanks to all that participated, and to all those that continue to contribute.
Please remember: we are collecting gently used footwear and donations for persons needing footwear. Local groups helping those in need will be given first priority to the footwear. No matter the type of footwear, all donations will be distributed to needed feet the world over.
Coffee Break for Alzheimer’s Society of Lanark County!
To date, we have passed out over 300 cups of coffee and through the generosity of those that donated, we managed to raise well over $1,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society of Lanark County!
Perth’s Annual Santa Parade of Lights
Each year, Parrot heads line the parade route to watch us. Glad to see you all! We have a great time bringing out the parrot heads in the parakeets…
Our group has won first place in the parade for the past 3 years. We have our bragging rights again until next year.
OUR Phorth Phridays, Thirsty Thursdays & Outings
These are our social / meeting nights… Even if you are not a parrot head, come on out to see what we are about. More info on locations will be provided on our Facebook page.
We also have, a few times a year, outings to great locations in Canada and the US, to listen to the latest trop rock and other music styling or to go to Buffett concerts wherever they may be…. Oh, and if we really have to mention, partying is included with this…. Parrot heads will be meeting there, so come on out and have PHun with the PHlock… We hope to see you there.
Our social gatherings are to hear music (if possible) and to do what parrot heads are known to do.
